86052 Ha/Wst.9/MA. 16th January, 1934. The Telegraph Condenser Co.Ltd., Wales Farm Road, North Acton, London, W.3. Condensers for R.R. Battery Ignition. Dear Sirs, You will be interested to learn that our tests on the condensers submitted are proving very satisfactory and we trust we shall be in a position to give you a production order shortly. We are proposing to send you an order under separate cover for six more condensers for standardisation test. With regard to this type of condenser we understand that a new impregnating wax has been developed which for a given paper will produce a higher inductivity than paraffin wax. Have you heard of this particular impregnating wax and if so would you care to produce a condenser for us for trial, as obviously a greater inductive dielectric will reduce the size of the condenser for a given capacity. We also understand that the Bosch Co., of Germany immerse their condensers in oil and hermetically seal the condenser case. The object of this oil immersed condenser is to prevent stress occurring in the paper due to the wax continually melting and solidifying on the chassis. We should be glad to have your further remarks on this subject in due course. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
