Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW. 12th November 1934. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Experimental Dept., DERBY. NOMAD Dear Sirs, For the attention of W.A.Robotham Esq. The set of six overweight pistons, referred to in your communication of the 7th, have now come to hand, and after examination, it is clear that the increase in weight has resulted from a slight change in the general overall dimensions of the core, a feature to which, as you know, wooden boxes are prone, and which is rendered impossible by the use of a metal corebox. This box is now in hand, and we would suggest that, unless the need for Aerolite Pistons in the Experimental Department is of a desperate character, we should await the completion of this box, which will be in about twenty-one days, and replace this set with pistons made from it, which will be within the specified weight limit of 17 oz. Would you kindly confirm that you are agreeable to this course. Yours faithfully, pp THE LIGHT PRODUCTION CO. LTD. GENERAL MANAGER. | ||
