Re- Petrol Pumps

With reference to Sr/VAI/MLG.30.I.40, "Sr" has informed me that during his last visit to the Works, you showed him a letter from the S.U.Company whereby they admitted that the cause of the trouble with the Neoprene diaphragm Units was due to the incorrect placing of the annular fabric ring.

We shall be glad if you will kindly let us have some information upon this matter as soon as possible. If the Neoprene diaphragm Units which have been supplied to us are now known to be defective and which have been fitted to pumps on customers cars, then we ought to change them for rectified ones as soon as possible and we should therefore need a supply of the rectified type Units.

For your information we have learned that while chassis N°3-DL-98 (Mr.Benjamin Guinness) was being driven to the South of France, serious trouble occured to the petrol pump at Montelimar . We have despatched a new pump to the driver and we are now awaiting the return of the defective one which is fitted with two layers of Neoprene material.
