BENTLEY DYNAMO FAILURES.
-------------------------

From an examination of the commutators on the two dynamos returned I gained the impression that the cause of the trouble was probably the result of a considerable night driving.

Before pursuing the matter further, therefore, I would like you to find out, if possible, whether the owners of the two chassis do much night driving. The point I have in mind is that the commutators were blackened apparently more as the result of sparking under high load conditions than the presence of oil or soft brushes. This condition could only arise, however, if the cars were repeatedly driven long distances at night with the lights on.

The cars in question are :-

(1). Chassis B.121.H.M. Mileage 8,453. S S Brier Golding, Rochester
Dynamo No. E.7.B.F.

(2). Chassis B.122.J.D. Mileage 3,658. H Ardern Meyer, 11 Montagu Square W1
Dynamo No. S.8.B.R.
