20 HP. 10,000 MILES CAR AT PRESENT IN FRANCE.

I was very pleased with this, but there are one
or two things which should be altered -
(1) X5430 The support of the steering column was put in
by Derby for experience, but I understand with no thought of
standardisation. This should be altered to something we
could standardise.

(a) The WW. clip fouls the foot far too much.
X5500 (b) I do not think we shall like cast dashes: they
will always be getting thick and heavy especially in this size
of car, and we shall get quite good results with sheet metal
cleverly used. The steering column seems now unnecessarily
rigid, and perhaps could have the fixing in the present flat
dash for the present.
X5080 The throttle spring was altogether too stiff. It
would seem also that the throttle should have a stop in the
closed position - see recent memo.
