With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E24.8.39., attached is a copy of the driver's report on his accident in 14.B.V.

There is no doubt that the driver was, to a certain extent, guilty of negligence, and he will never be allowed to drive Rolls-Royce cars again. It is true to say, however, that the behaviour of the driver of the other car was definitely a contributory cause as he should not have come out of this track without ascertaining that the road was clear. The road in question was well-known to the Chateauroux drivers, and never previously had any vehicle been seen emerging from this track.
