Dear Mr.Evernden,

Re : Bentley "Corniche".

I am very pleased to write you this short letter, which will mark the resumption of our conversations and our work, so unfortunately interrupted.

It is a question of my obtaining from you the authorisation for the deletion pure and simple of the Silent Blocs which are on the body brackets of the chassis for the 'Corniche' which has recently come over.

Personally, in my opinion nothing justifies the fitting or the function of these accessories. I have not designed the body to be completely isolated. It is a technique which will not stand examination. It is no use my explaining to you the reason; you will under-stand it immediately.

The chassis deflections cannot give a movement more serious than those of the chassis of M.Embericos' car, therefore we must get a very good result from the mounting, in my opinion.

Besides, the blueprints of the chassis which are in my possession shew no indication of the Silent Blocs, otherwise I would have asked before to have them deleted. Unaware of them I have not made any provision for them in the framing, and all considered they are but an extra complication for me.

Be it understood that, if on your part, you see they are absolutely necessary, I would come round in my opinion, and I would be very curious to know the reason.

I ask you, dear Mr.Evernden to please
