[STAMP] ORIGINAL To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from AFC. C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} C. Py. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. Ia. Wox. EFC4/ADL1.7.30. X.4600. 20/25 HP. BATTERY & BATTERY BOX. X.4378. one piece 6-compartment moulded cell container. As it appears unlikely that the proposition of splitting the 20/25 HP. battery into two 6-volt units will materialise, we strongly recommend the adoption of one piece 6-compartment moulded cell containers for the 20/25 HP. battery. We do not consider the present wooden containing case to be satisfactory. This case is the first part of the battery to deteriorate particularly in the case of the Exide battery. It may be remembered that we have in the past had four experimental batteries from Messrs. Peto & Radford made up in such 6-compartment containers. That Company made the mould for these containers at their own expense as it is available if this feature is standardised. In regard to our own general conclusions from the results of tests on the experimental P & R.{Sir Henry Royce} batteries so made up, these are that with certain minor modifications | ||
