To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x 200a Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/KW. 29.5.35. High Melting Point Close Clearance Bearings. It is evident from the results of recent tests, that the white metal main bearings are getting into the same condition as the big ends and that they will not stand high temperatures. We should therefore like to carry on with the tests on Hall's bearing alloy, and also with the high cadmium white metal, with a view to getting something better.
