Dear Mr. Thomas, We want to tackle the brakes on your Phantom 11 car with the least possible inconvenience to yourself. If the oil is still leaking on to the front brakes it will be difficult to make a permanent job unless we have the car at Derby. I am rather inclined to agree with you that this is the trouble. Is there any time in the near future when you could spare the car without any inconvenience to yourself?. If not, the only thing I could do is to send someone down to have a look at them to confirm whether it is necessary for the car to come back to the Works or not. If the work cannot be done at Byfleet then I am afraid we shall have to wait until you can spare the car. If you are thinking of buying one of our new 12 Cylinders I suggest that you get your order in right away because at the rate orders are at present being booked it is likely to be twelve months before you will obtain delivery, even if you get your name down at once. I must say that in spite of the inevitable antipathy which an engineer always must feel towards a product with which he has been associated, that I am of the opinion that the Phantom lll is the first big car that cont'd...... | ||
