To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. c. to Ms. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Ey. X.4289 EFC2/T14.3.21. X.4289 - RE COSTS OF ELECTRICAL UNITS OBTAINED FROM OUTSIDE. X.4168 I should be glad if you would let me know the present prices we are paying in quantity for the following items used on our standard electrical system :- 1. Ammeter. 2. Battery. 3. Lucas combined switchbox and cut-out. 4. Lucas junction box. 5. Watford E.6 magneto. 6. Lucas tail lamp block. 7. Wiring - low tension and high tension. In two of the above cases, e.g. No.4 and No.7, we do a certain amount of fitting work, so that the cost of the finished unit will really exceed the figure you quote, but for the additional cost I am applying to the Estimating Dept., my object being to know the cost of the finished units exclusive of testing and fitting to the car.
