OBJECT OF TEST.
Investigations on Brakes.
TESTER.

CONDITIONS.
Brake test rig and road tests.
SUMMARY OF TEST.
The results of these tests on the rig which shows excessive wear with jointed shoes, have been confirmed on the road. On our temporary jointed shoes fitted to floating fulcrum brakes, we found on examination excessive wear on the toggle end of the jointed portion of the non-wrapping shoe. On the standard shoes, the maximum wear is at the centre of the shoe.
