NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I COMPLAINTS.
Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG3.3.26.

I am sorry I made a mistake in entering 35-MC and 41-MC twice. This was a mistake on my part, as the over-oiling only occurred, as far as I know, once on each car.

I note that in future you do not wish me to include complaints which we have already given in previous reports. I will, therefore, only send you a list of new cases since I reported last. I will also give you the number of Phantom cars actually delivered to customers up to the date of the report, when I make it out again in three months' time.

With regard to the complaint of pre-ignition, this was the engine firing backwards after being switched off, of which we received four complaints, on the following cars:-

118-MC.
120-MC.
76-MC.
49-MC.

118-MC. which belongs to Captain Burt was attended to at W.
120-MC. belonging to Mr. Williamson. Please see Com/D/AWS10/B22.2.26. This car was attended to at N.
76-MC. belonging to Mr.Roberts. Please see Inspection Memo 8913 by MK.{R. E. B. Meade-King} Please see Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/MRC14/D7.1.26., last paragraph but one.
49-MC. Lord Riddell. I am afraid I cannot give you what happened to this, as I cannot lay my hand on the file

I understand from Capt. Burt that he has come across several other cases of this complaint, but has not made a special note of it. He has simply told the people to throttle down the engine for a minute or so before switching off.
