In reply to your letter of the 24th instant, asking for additional details of the Inlox bushes, we are pleased to give you the following information which we hope will be of interest to you. Inlox bushes are of two main types. In one, the inner tube is brass plated and the rubber is bonded, i.e. vulcanised, to it. The outer tube, which is of comparatively thin gauge and of a larger diameter than the finished size, is rolled down and the ends spun over. For example, an outer tube, the final diameter of which is 1.7/16" is originally 1 5/8". In the second type of bush, the inner tube has a ridge spun in it, the rubber is moulded separately but has a corresponding annular depression and, the rubber having been pushed on to the inner tube, the outer tube is rolled down to a small diameter in the manner described above. Although we hope soon to be able to offer you bushes made with bonded rubber, we have nothing at present which entirely replaces the Inlox bush.
