Lidsey} November 30th 1931. For the attention of Experimental Dept. Dear Sirs, As requested we have sent the Trunk removed from Chassis No. 24-EX to the Makers for repairing and remaking as new, and we have received their quotation of £22.0.0. if covered in Connolly's Head Leather as original, and £19.12.0. if covered in Fabric as sample enclosed. We suggested that the existing Fittings might be repaired and replated to save expense, but they state with regard to these Fittings:- 'We should like to point out that they have all been so smashed or strained that the cost of repairing and replating would be as much, if not more, than the cost of new Fittings'. We strongly recommend the use of Connolly's Leather in place of the Fabric for hard wear, and propose to instruct them to proceed on the lines as stated unless we receive negative instructions from you by return. Yours faithfully, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SANDERSON & HOLMES LTD. H.T. Sanderson | ||
