Went over The Duesenberg plant yesterday, They make about 400 Cars a year but their set up is not very impressive.
The supercharger drive which is a worm of about 4-1 reduction, is of generous proportions and looks more likely to stand up than the Graham phosphor bronze worm wheel.
The supercharger is jacketed with hot water not cooling water and I presume this has been found necessary to get good distribution.
The blower is not nearly as quiet as that on the Graham being definitely audible in the driving seat at 1500 R.P.M.
The over head camshaft is driven by silent chain and the engine runs up to 5700 R.P.M. with the supercharger, this must surely be the worst task with which any chain has to cope.
They say these chains give satisfaction but they are having endless trouble with white metalled big ends.
