Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 9/LG28.4.21. X3481 X2949 X-3485 RE. GOSHAWK 1 ENGINE. We are running Goshawk1 engine on the Test Bench. We have measured the torque necessary to turn this engine. Below are the figures:- Starting of Goshawk engine. We have also taken again the figures for the amount of advance required with the Goshawk engine. We have taken these figures by means of a drum fixed to the dynamometer shaft and taken a high tension wire from one of the plugs to this drum to mark exactly where the spark takes place.
