I feel very dissatisfied about the slow progress in connection with the above. One of the principal reasons for sending Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and Gry. {Shadwell Grylls} to America last winter was to get the latest information and, without looking up the papers, I think I am quite correct in saying that W. were in full possession of information from our people in America on this subject prior to Christmas. So far as I understand it, this matter goes in three stages - 1. Rubber between the body and the frame or frame brackets. 2. Rubber between the axle and the springs. 3. Rubber introduced somewhere into the spring shackles. No.1 was applied fairly quickly but progress appears to have been slow in regard to 2 and 3.
