At 1200 miles a day for 4 days we did in fact cover @ Chateauroux, 8400 miles a week. i.e. 25,000 in 3 weeks was our aim, with tyre changes at 3-4000. Most exhausting.
I don't think any of us realised the critical importance of these tests at the time, because we just weren't told in those days —
