-2- The butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe, operated by the accelerator pedal squeaks considerably, and sticks open more often than not. Can you recommend a remedy? I should be glad if you would tell me what petrol consumption I should expect to get, on give and take roads, with an average speed of 30/40 miles an hour. My best results during the past fortnight would appear to be something under 14 miles per gallon, even though I have always driven with the weakest possible mixture. I shall be much obliged to have your comments on all these points at your early convenience. Yours faithfully, (Signed) Geoffrey Summers. P.S. I forgot to mention that the servo motor has become very fierce. On dry roads it sets up heavy vibration throughout the chassis, and once on a slippery surface it locked the back wheels and remained locked itself, although the pedal was released. Is there any dressing I could apply to the friction surfaces? GS. | ||
