Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

For the Attention of Mr. Steadman.

Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 2nd inst., reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.12/KW, we have not yet completed experiments on our Mark VI type Matrix, but we are engaged on modifications which should ensure the degree of efficiency called for.

Referring to the second paragraph of your letter we have carried out tests comparing our Mark VI with the Gallay-Chausson type of motor car matrix, and these tests indicate that the cooling efficiency of our matrix is slightly superior to that of this fin and tube matrix. We would point out that the type of matrix referred to is not convenient for making up with shaped matrices, and for your particular requirements we consider the film type more satisfactory.

The writer hopes to be in Derby next week and would like to take the opportunity of calling upon you to discuss the matter further.

Yours faithfully,

for JOHN MARSTON Limited,
Howard Southall
Works Engineer.
