TESTS IN FRANCE.

Confirming the arrangement made yesterday, we are preparing a 25 HP. car to go to France which will be a model of the second half of 'T' Series.

Actually we have no car which we can send away. The only 25 HP. car we have is 18-G4, and we cannot possibly spare this car as it would leave us without anything at Derby because all the time we want to refer to it and we also want to be trying out different experiments which will be incorporated in the series after 'T'. We should therefore like to know whether you could let us have a car from London so that we could modify it and carry out these tests. After the test is finished it could be overhauled and returned to you and would then be an up to date complete car.

As regards the series to follow 'T'. For this series we recommend we build two new 25 HP. Expl. chassis of this type. These chassis will only be put in hand after the specification has been agreed to, but we should at once be considering the bodies. In asking for two we do not think we are asking for enough, but we want to put that down as the minimum requirement, which leaves us one car for France and one for tests at the Works.

As regards a Phantom car to send to France primarily to try the effect of the rear engine feet removed over bad roads, the most suitable car we have for this job is one of the left-hand cars (25-EX.). For the particular job which it is going for it makes no difference whether the car is right or left handed but we will send you a list of what we propose to fit to this car in a few days.
