AUTOVAC TANK.

With reference to our discussion at the Grosvenor Hotel recently, the Sales officials are very much in favour of having the Autovac tank fitted with :

(a) a plug at the bottom to enable the Autovac to be thoroughly cleaned out when required;

(b) a plug or other arrangement by which the Autovac can be easily filled in case of emergency, to enable the customer to reach home.

If the Autovac fails, it is very necessary to be able to fill up with petrol, and if the main tank becomes punctured by a car without front wheel brakes running into an R.R. with front wheel brakes, it is also necessary to be able to fill the Autovac tank easily.

It is appreciated that dropping petrol on to an extremely hot exhaust pipe might cause fire, but it is thought that when a customer had discovered that his Autovac had failed, his exhaust pipe would have plenty of time to cool before he filled it with petrol.
