6119 To Mr. FWG from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} O.{Mr Oldham} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RMO. c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HC. d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}13.1.39. 3.B.50. Further to our memo regarding the unit for the above chassis (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}31.12.38), will you please cancel this memo as the unit mentioned, namely B.V. No.3 has now been refitted into 1.B.50 chassis. We propose, therefore, to allot Wraith III No.9 for the above 3.B.50 chassis which should be re-assembled to the following specification. (1) Existing crankcase if crack test O.K. (2) Existing main bearings (record of dimensions to be taken). (3) Existing crank fitted with solid flywheel and clutch ex B.V. No.3 unit. Crack test and measure crank, also check balance. (4) Connecting rods crack tested. Use existing big ends if measurements come within limits. (5) Raised crown pistons P.452 which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} will supply. (6) Existing cylinder block if bore measurements are reasonable. (7) Existing standard cylinder head. Check for cracking on seats. Crack test all valves, if O.K. refit after lapping in. (8) Cylinder head to be fitted with Bentley thermostat and fittings. (9) Camshaft EB.3466 to be fitted. (10) "General" filter to be fitted which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} will supply. | ||
