Engineer}12/AP.28.4.37 Ph.III. CROSS STEERING TUBE JOINTS. We are handing to you a standard Ph.III. cross steering tube complete with two ball ends. Will you please rig test the joints to determine whether the friction falls, and, if so, why. The joints are assembled to arrgt. drawing G.81942 and are adjusted by packing washers G.84936 to have a friction load of 3½ lbs. measured at the opposite end of the tube. The standard adjustment is 3.25 lbs ± 0.25 lbs. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} | ||
