In addition to our own starter and ignition schemes we now have for the immediate future:-

(1) Smith dynamo cutting in sooner, more silent, and with less wires.

(2) Smith cutout a more accurate and reliable appliance.

(3) R.R. switchboard with better switches etc. for instrument board.

(4) R.R. distribution board, as mentioned above, to be fitted on front of dashboard.

(5) R.R. locked ignition switch fittingnwith connection socket for inspection lamp, and press button for instrument light.

Drawings for items 3, 4, and 5 an have been made at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town.

A simple and comprehensive diagram of this R.R. wiring has been made and will be published when this new installation is adopted.

LEFT HAND STEERING.

I have always considered that we ought to supply cars with L.H. steering for use in countries where they drive on the right-hand side of the road. This scheme is particulary adapted for central change speed levers, and great progress is being made to supply complete working drawings and model chassis embodying -

(1) Left hand steering. (3) Central control levers
(2) Three speed box. (4) Flywheel geared starter
(5) RR designed & constructed Electrical installation entirely, except dynamo, Cut out, batteries and lamps.
(6) Slightly increased length of torque tube.
