Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG7.1.25. OBJECT OF TEST. Bumping tests on EAC. 'W' series. TESTER. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Bolton. CONDITIONS. Standard bump test conditions. SUMMARY OF TEST. The second frame has failed at the same point as the previous test. The life of the second one is up to the average 40/50 HP. We consider that we have proved the modifications on 'W' series to be reliable on the bumping tests. Firths have been asked to supply further sets of 45" springs made to the same design as the latest 43 1/2". We are now proposing to carry out bumping tests on a 'V' series chassis.
