current cables, and a smaller pair for the lighter current cables. The finish of the whole battery is better than that of the C.A.V. and the battery box is a much better proposition. The acid level, however, cannot be seen horizontally, but this can be inspected by taking out the vents and looking down into the cells. When the battery is taken off the car for charging purposes, one would have to take it out of its box to inspect the condition of the plates and to see whether all plates are gassing freely. The filling holes are larger than on the C.A.V. battery and the filling is, therefore, easier. The vents are of celluloid, and although the principle of the vents does not seem as good as that of the C.A.V. nevertheless they look stouter and better mechanically.

We have taken the matter of batteries up with the Exide (Chloride), Fuller, Peto & Radford, and Tudor Companies.

Tudor Co.

We are making arrangements for the representative of the Tudor Co., to come and see us at these works in this connection.

Peto & Radford. EFC.

We are expecting from Messrs. Peto & Radford, one of their 60 ampere type 3 L.D.11 chassis lighting and starting batteries, and also later on, a similar battery, but in ebonite case instead of celluloid.

Fuller Accumulator Co.

We had a visit from the representative of the Fuller Accum: Co., and he promised that he would send us along a battery of a type we decided upon in conversation. This is not yet to hand.
