666 aho. 1159 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}23.5.39. RATIONALISED CHASSIS HUBS. It has been decided to replace the angular contact bearings now used in the front hubs of the above chassis by ordinary deep groove ball bearings. It so happens that bearings of the required size are being removed from Wraith production gearboxes in order to fit similar bearings with less slack. We are obtaining 20 of each size required for the hubs from production and will hand them to you. Will you please fit these bearings to the front hubs of all our rationalised chassis and in particular to 30.G.VII. The preload should be from zero to 0.001.
