X7941. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 21.7.32. With reference to your remarks re radiator mounting, we have endeavoured to give you the value of the radiator mounted on the crossmember and mounted on the engine. We have stated quite clearly that the radiator mounted on the engine for continental conditions has a value of 50%. * This must not be confused with the values of 35% and 75% respectively of radiator mounting and torque reaction dampers. These figures represent the value of each unit to obtain the 50% value. We have not recommended the fitting of the radiator upon the engine, for the reason that with the present design, it would not remain on for any length of time without water leaks and the breaking of the joints to top of radiator. * for the worst type of road GWHancock.
