To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to HFT c. to BY c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/MG7.5.32 Exhaust System for 100 - 20 HP. "V" Series We have discussed this question very fully amongst ourselves with a view to introducing the modified Exhaust System, which effects such a considerable economy, at the earliest possible moment on this Series, and the unanimous opinion is that, if we continue with the output at the present rate, i.e. 8 per week for 8 weeks and then drop to ............ 5 per week, we have no alternative but to continue the present Exhaust System, certainly on the first 50 Chassis; and as we gather you are in agreement, we are arranging accordingly. As far as the Exhaust System for Chassis 51 and onwards is concerned, we propose to review the question about the middle of June, and will report further. The whole question, of course, hinges on when the Experimental Shop can standardise the modified System - which we gather from present indications will be at least 2 1/2 to 3 months from now. Every week they can anticipate will of course enable us to effect the economy desired - running into several pounds per Chassis. ROY{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
