F.J. Hardy [Redacted Text] c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Redacted Text] 3v0 BY.4/C.10.6.37. PHANTOM 111 - STEERING BOX. ----------------------------- We have run into trouble in attempting to use malleable cast iron insofar as the number of castings scrapped has been so great as to leave us without provision for carrying on with production. In order to overcome this trouble we agree to temporarily revert to the bronze type of box, which was displaced by the malleable cast iron. Will the Order Office, therefore, kindly order 50 of the old type of box to enable us to get out of the present impasse, and furthermore unless the malleable casting Company can produce much better work than they have done up to the moment it will mean that we will either have to revert to the bronze type of box entirely or find another source of supply.
