X264 Exptl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}38/KW. 20th September, 1935. C.W. Ward Esq., Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, LONDON, N.W.10. Dear Mr. Ward, Chassis No. B-56-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} It looks as if it will be Thursday morning of next week before we shall be able to let you have the chassis for this car. You will therefore be able to arrange your programme accordingly. I do not know whether you are making any provision for a Spinney ventilator on the scuttle of this car, but as I pointed out, the existing ventilator does not seem to be any good. We have now got Sales Dept. to agree to the fitting of the noise insulation scheme to their cars, and they are going to ask you to do B-2-CW. We have agreed with them that the total insulation scheme is too heavy, and that therefore we want to try a reduced scheme, the components of which are shown on the attached list. The materials used are of course similar to those which have been applied to our various experimental cars. Ultimately the scheme may be done here at the Works, but for the time being we are of course relying on Coachbuilders to carry out the work, and have told Mr. Honeyman that you have the necessary material. Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
