Rolls Royce, Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. 27th April, 1936. Dear Sirs, Further to our letter of Saturday, we beg to say our Cap No. P.648 is exactly as supplied to Mr. Hall previously, except that P.650 screwing ring was replaced by a special Adaptor we made to suit the Filler Neck already on the Tank of his Car. We have not a casting of this ring (P.651) in stock and as from your Order it would appear that you propose to make the Adaptors, we would point out that a good depth of Adaptor is required to give sufficient strength to the Base to avoid distortion when the required pressure is put on the Cap. With reference to the Cap sent under separate cover on Saturday under our reference P.779. This is a standard Cap, unfinished, which we have sent so that you can give us definite instructions as to what you require. As mentioned over the telephone, practically all the Caps we have made of this pattern have been made to special requirements and with the information we have now given to you, we shall be glad to know exactly what you would like us to do, and with the exception of the Adaptors, we shall be able to give you delivery within 6-7 days from receipt of your final instructions. Yours faithfully, P.P. Ceandess, Ltd., T. A.{Mr Adams} Stevens. Director.
