wheel increase. Possibly it is the effect they have on the main pivot lean as 1° on the rear = 3/4° pivot lean approximately.

We are more or less convinced that a large proportion of the wandering reported has been due to insufficient damping in the suspension. Also anything below 30 lbs/sq.in. does make a definite difference to selectiveness (rear tyres).

We find that the reason that the upward loading has been insufficient on the dampers is that the air escape hole in the top cap is too large. The temperatures out here make the thin oil we are using like water. It therefore flows freely through this hole even under quite rapid lever arm movements. We anticipated this, and asked the Works to drill the smallest hole they could on production.
