DUNLOP RUBBER CO., LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM TELEPHONE: BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL 4108 (P.B.E.) EXTENSION No. YOUR REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}22/KW. OUR REF: Exptl Dept. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM December 11th, 1935. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, I thank you for your letter of the 6th inst., and return herewith the advertisement of the GENERAL tyre. We had tested this tyre, but did not form a very good impression of it. It is true that steering is somewhat lighter, but its non-skid properties were not good. On occasions it seems to have run almost entirely on the edge of the tread. The wear on the shoulders is excessive. We have a set of 7.50 section on a 15" rim, which you might like to try. These have the old tread pattern, but the same general shape of cross section as in the advertisement you enclosed. The next time we meet we might talk more fully on this subject. Yours faithfully, For DUNLOP RUBBER CO LTD., A Healey Works Director. | ||
