To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.

We recently requested you to fit new aluminium blades to a Ph.III fan which we handed to you - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/JH. 23.12.37. Also we requested modifications to a pair of fan pulleys - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.11/AP.3.2.38.

Will you please fit up the fan which has been fitted with new blades, for endurance on our test rig as follows-

(1) Fitted with modified fan pulley as per Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. 11/AP.3.2.38.

(2) Fitted with Ballraces supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.

(3) Packed with high and low melting point grease in the special manner already requested.

The fan which has already completed 8 hours endurance on the test bed and which you have stripped for examination, should have its blade profiles corrected and should be rebuilt and returned to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.

The Wraith fan which you have stripped after 17 hours endurance should be reassembled as it stands and handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.
