Mr.Claude Johnson,
Managing Director,
Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
London, England.

Dear Sir:- Re: Spark Plugs.

On August 13th we shipped to Rolls-Royce Ltd., attention of the Experimental Department, 108 Champion Metric Spark Plugs for examination at Derby.

These are single point plugs and are used, I imagine, on nearly 50% of the cars in the United States.

They have a porcelain said to withstand heat and mechanical shocks to a remarkable extent.

They have been found by Mr.Caswell, during a number of years, to give excellent results on R-R cars over here.

Mr.Hives has already examined one or two of these plugs and reported favourably upon them, but has not yet run any extensive tests.

We desire your permission to use these plugs in this country for repair work and on the American chassis. Also for replacements of defective plugs on the imported chassis, and to recommend their use to customers.

A further set of plugs made by the Bessemer Co. will be sent you shortly, and probably some made by the American Bosch Co. as soon as they start producing their metric size.

Very truly yours,

ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, Inc.

per (Sgd) M.Olley.
