HYKRO CRANKSHAFTS.
------------------

The Hykro Crankshafts for the P.III Chassis and Bentley for experimental testing, are being supplied in the normalised condition.

This means of course that they will require full heat treatment before machining.

The heat treatment recommended by the suppliers is as follows :-

(1) Heat to 900º and quench in oil.

(2) Temper at 650ºC. to give a brinell of 286 to 311.

The stress releasing after machining should be carried out at a temperature of 550ºC.
