The following notes were taken during Mr. Wormald's and my visit to Mr. Royce:-

X.543 STARTER MOTOR.

Mr. Royce pointed out the difficulty of trying the to adapt the simple type cage similar to what is to be used on "Eagle" starter for the car starter motor. It was left that it would be looked into to see what could be done, but in the meantime we should go on with the present arrangement. It was also suggested that we should try a smaller size chain wheel on the motor. Mr. Royce pointed out that the carcase of the motor should be made from tubing. The main switch should be hung on the rear cross member i.e. the tube which crosses the frame where the rear springs are anchored, the switch should be clipped on that tube so that the jolting of the car does not tend to operate the switch.

X.3454. AIR PUMP.

It was agreed that the capacity of the air pump on the engine should be increased 50% It was also agreed that the maximum compression should be 3 lbs. per sq. inch so that we should have some range of pressure.

SPEEDOMETER DRIVE. X.460.

Mr. Royce regretted that there was noproper speedometer drive off the gear box. It has been previously agreed we should supply and fit a proper speedometer pulley as a part of the chassis. We are asking Mr. Elliott to supply particulars of this.
