x551 To By/Cgh.{W Clough} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}5/KW.1.5.35. Petrol Tank Air Vent. 20/25 HP.Chassis. With reference to memo. By/Cgh.{W Clough}8/G.24.4.35. concerning the above. With the exception that we used a Banjo connection in place of the union nut, RR.Sch.639 was fitted to 21-G-IV, and has since completed over 40,000 miles without defect. The use of the Banjo was purely to save hacking the body away in order to make room for the bend of the vent pipe. In the case of a chassis, the scheme could be carried out with ease, and the Coachbuilder would automatically cater for the piping. We see no reason why this scheme should not be adopted in the immediate future. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.Bowering. | ||
