Dear Sirs,
We should like to thank you for the invitation contained in your letter of the 12th instant to submit a friction lining of our manufacture to meet the special requirements of the servo motor in your brake system.
We must first, however, explain that the apparent delay in replying to your letter has been caused through our Works being closed from the 13th instant until this morning owing to the Whitsuntide holidays in Manchester.
The information contained in your letter will enable us to make the required investigation as to which of our types would most efficiently meet your special requirements, and we are hoping in the course of this week to submit material for your experiments.
The particular conditions which you name and that feature of squealing which you wish to eliminate is one which is fully appreciated by us, and we hope the
