PROGRAMME FOR 1924.

E.A.C.III.

There seems reasonable chance of having chassis ready for the 10,000 miles trial by the middle of January. Tests should be through early in February, or certainly towards the middle of February, so that we anticipate that we ought to be able to be delivering chassis, with reasonable good luck, fitted with Front Wheel Brakes, to Sales, by the end of March.

Providing our brakes are satisfactory our chief difficulty in obtaining material will be Front Springs, but Mr.Whitehead has gone today to Sheffield to try and arrange for supplies.

At the present time 60 chassis have been delivered from Works to Test belonging to "S" series of 200 chassis, leaving 140 of "S" series still to be delivered to test. It seems important and necessary to at once release "T" series, which comprises 200 sets, in order to keep up a continuity of output. It will be remembered that we stopped delivery of any further material on "T" series some months ago when Front Wheel Brakes were decided upon, but it appears to me that we shall need to get in the material of "T" series at the earliest moment, because undoubtedly we shall need to carry on with this series because E.A.C.II will not be ready to take E.A.C.III's place at the end of "S" series. Indeed it is somewhat doubtful whether we shall be ready with E.A.C.II at the end of "T" series. At 10 chassis per week the remainder of "S" series and "T" series, comprising 340 chassis, from Works to Test, would take us until the middle of August 1924 to complete.
