Driving Dogs. This complaint has been known for some considerable time. The Expt. Dept. have, within the last two months, conceived a design which is now being tried out on G.B.IV in France. The average mileage shows up the weakness.

Noise. This is due to the weakness in the pinion bearing. It is not capable of taking the torque. The gears become out of alignment, and noise develops. The latest Gb.2035 roller bearing is not standing up to the job. Three nose pieces and bearings have been sent to Kingsbury for test in the Trials Cars, to design Ex.23493, also an N.Sch.4985 is to be tried when the parts arrive.
