R.R. 285A (100 T) (S.G. 845, 19-5-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2618 COPY. LETTER RECEIVED FROM:- MESSRS. JONAS WOODHEAD & SONS LTD. LEEDS. Your Refs:-Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}13/NJ221120. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}3/NJ231120. Our Ref:- E.O.251120K. 25th November 1920. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, We duly received your letter of Nov. 22nd & 23rd. and in reply beg to say that your Front Springs are already made from round edge steel. If you adopt round edge material for the Rear Springs you will effect a saving of 11/- per Spring of the average poundage i.e. 10 plates. If this is of interest to you we will go fully into the matter and let you have a revised quotation for all poundages. Our quotation of Nov. 15th was for Rear Springs without nubs and slits, and included plate clips affixed by the more expensive method of Bolts and Nuts, which we note you have decided upon. We are sorry to note your request for these Springs to be made from flat material as it is extremely difficult, if not impossible to "fit" them satisfactory and for this reason we would ask you to kindly re-consider your decision. Awaiting the favour of your reply, We remain, Yours faithfully, JONAS WOODHEAD & SONS LTD. | ||
