(e) The generator to be capable of generating a current of 25 amps at 850 r.p.m. approx and above when the battery is fully discharged.

(f) The generator and control apparatus should be liberally rated.

(g) Proposed generator speed 1½ times engine speed.

The principal concerns manufacturing generator equipment in this country are as follows :-

The Delco Company
The Westinghouse Manufacturing Co
The Bijur Company.
Atwater Kent Co.
Sims Magneto Co.
Remy Electric Co.
The Leice Neville Co.

The first three concerns are representative of the trade, and as desired, I have arranged to obtain sample sets of apparatus from these people.

(a) You are familiar with the general features of the apparatus to be obtained from the Delco Co. which will be covered later in a detail report. The generator will be straight shunt wound machine with composite units to control both current and voltage.

(b) The Westinghouse Company are to supply one of their standard straight shunt wound machines with a vibrator control unit modified slightly to meet our requirements as near as possible.

(c) The Bijur Company will supply a similar machine to that of the Westinghouse Company. You already have one of their six volt vibrator units. A twelve volt vibrator unit will be supplied to complete the sample generator set.
