1379 W/S. C. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} SECRET & CONFIDENTIAL. file Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}18/ML.28.10.40. re BENTLEY PUBLICITY. Before the war an artist came over here and made a number of sketches of the more characteristic features of the Bentley V.{VIENNA} chassis. In particular, the front suspension, roll rod, frame, etc., I do not think there is any harm in publishing any of this information. I think we should also let Geoffrey Smith have anything further he wants in the way of photographs or sketches. It may not be easy for you to appreciate it, but the Bentley V.{VIENNA} is now almost completely out-of-date, owing to the fact that we have been running more advanced models which were made at the beginning of the war, and have now got them tested. We shall, of course, produce 500 or so of the Bentley as you know it, in order to use up the material that is available. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
