6116. To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/JH.23.1.40. Headlamps & Horns on Ripple.. Attached are photographs of l.R.l. shewing a comparison with the present R.100 lamp and the new smaller type produced by Messrs. Lucas for our approval. On this photograph we also shew one horn in position through the wing, this horn is fastened to the wing stay. Our idea has been to clean up the front and to get some experience with horns under the wings from weather conditions etc. It should be possible in all cases of high cat walks to bring the horns through the wing if the appearance is approved.
