P.III Body Weights.
Your Ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/R.20.3.37.

We do not appear to have had a copy of the weight report of 3-AZ-50 but we have now obtained one and we agree the Gurney Nutting body weight is 12 cwt. 0 qtrs. 15 lbs.

We have found out, however, that this too is a 2-door body without a division and consequently it cannot really be compared with the body Barkers have just completed which has, of course, four doors and a division.

The Young body of 3-AZ-30 was certainly an exceptionally light one and we are trying to get more details. It is lighter than the usual Young body.

The Park Ward body of 32-BX, although it has four doors, has not, according to our records, a division so that to make a useful comparison allowance ought to be made for this fact.

We would add that weights of bodies recently completed for P.III chassis by Gurney Nutting are appreciably heavier than their early bodies, due apparently to the fact that they now follow more closely our recommendations for the construction of bodies for P.IIIs and do more in the way of noise insulation.
