To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X8774 E1/M19.9.27. RE. NEXT 10,000 MILES & SPORTS PHANTOM. X.8940b. X.8774 In reply to memo. BY9/H16.9.27., the information you have does not cover the design of the cyl. block. Owing to the weakness which has been discovered by us in the crankchamber subsequent to the reported working loose, and breakage of crankchamber bolts, it is proposed to remove the oil pump from its present position to the front of the engine, and to alter the valve gear so as to do away with the large doors on the side of the crankchamber. A drg. is at present in hand covering these modifications and will be sent through at the earliest possible moment E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
